Tips on Using EasyLink Bookmarks

You can quickly and easily set up direct links to articles, as well as titles, from your library OPAC, website or intranet, using ingenta URLs.

You can use these direct links to:

• Bookmark an article and email its URL to colleagues.
• Make specific articles available to users from your website.

Creating a direct link to a publication

To create a link to a publication, browse our EasyLink bookmarks, or copy and paste the title of the publication from the list of title URLs. Bookmark for direct access.

Creating a direct link to an article

ingenta uses the OpenURL standard for linking to articles. These URLs are based on the OpenURL standard and will not change, allowing you to bookmark them for future access.

An OpenURL takes the following form:
http://openurl.ingenta.com/content?genre=article&journal=... & article=... & author=...

To identify the exact article you wish to link to, add as many of the following to the URL:

• Publication title
• ISSN
• EISSN
• Date
• Volume
• Issue
• Start page number
• Article title
• Author
• ingenta article reference

For example, the end result may look like this:

http://openurl.ingenta.com/content?genre=article&aulast=Callera&auinit1=F &title=British+Journal+of+Haematology&atitle=Increased+apoptic+cells+in+bone +marrow+biopsies+from+patients+with+aplactic+anaemia&volume=98 &issue=1&spage=18&epage=20&date=1997
