Welcome

to the first issue of the new-look EyetoEye newsletter for libraries. We've taken the production of the newsletter in-house, restructured it with new sections, and updated the layout and branding to reflect the much-praised design of the IngentaConnect website. It's been in development for some while now, hence it's been longer than usual since our last issue – and we've got an abundance of articles for you...

First up is the launch of our upgrade package for libraries, IngentaConnect Premium. We're also proud to announce the Ingenta Research Award which we've created in conjunction with the Library Research Round Table of the American Library Association. As usual, we round up all the latest new publishers to join Ingenta, as well as bringing you news of new titles and special offers from existing publisher customers.

Our InSider section brings you up-to-date with some key facts and figures about Ingenta as we start 2005. We launch our InSight feature with an overview of the renewals process, the disruption it causes and our attempts to lessen the pain.

As ever, we aim to provide a helpful and informative newsletter, and we welcome your feedback. Please let us know if there are topics you would like us to cover, or issues we could usefully address.

On behalf of all of us on the library services team at Ingenta,

Doug Wright
Vice President, Ingenta Library Division
