New service launch: OpenURL-enabled alerting
Ingenta is pleased to announce a major enhancement to our alerting service – OpenURL-enabled Alerting.By upgrading to this new service, institutional users can link directly from an alert to the full text of the article, regardless of whether the full text resides on IngentaConnect, on other hosting services within the Library's collection or even on the Library's shelves.
OpenURL-enabled Alerting allows a Library not only to offer its patrons a current awareness programme, with over 29,000 publications from a wide scope of disciplines, but also a service which is fully integrated with the Library's full text holdings. Users will be directed outside a Library's holdings only if an item is not available in their collection, thus reducing the potential for duplicate orders.
The new service is simple to implement and is compatible with all major link resolver software.
The fee for upgrading to OpenURL-enabled alerting is based on the size of the current alerting licence held by your Institution. The new service is also available to Institutions who currently have no alerting licence.
