Welcome

to the new issue of eyetoeye. With the final launch of the IngentaConnect platform now complete, we've got plenty to tell you. Firstly, there's some exciting news as we launch an exciting new service, OpenURL-enabled table of contents alerting. To support that story, we take the opportunity to provide an overview of OpenURL – what it is, how it is being used, and what Ingenta is doing to comply with it. We've also put together a brief article to keep you informed about features and functionality available from IngentaConnect, with a particular focus on what's new in the latest release, and some timely reminders about registering, activating your subscriptions and linking to your library's subscribed titles.

This issue's new and recently-launched publishers piece includes the great news that Ingenta and Springer have signed a new agreement which will see over 1000 Springer titles appearing in IngentaConnect over the next few months. As usual, we also pass on news of special offers and new titles from Ingenta's publisher partners.

We enjoyed catching up with so many of you at the United Kingdom Serials Group Annual Conference recently – thank-you to all those of you who came by the Ingenta stand to share your experiences of using IngentaConnect. We were thrilled to receive such positive feedback about the new site (and to see the alacrity with which the IngentaConnect clocks were flying out of our hands!) We look forward to seeing you all again next year, and to catching up with those of you in North America at the SLA and ALA Annual Conferences this June. Don't forget that, in conjunction with The Library Research Round Table, we will be presenting the first Ingenta Research Award at ALA.

Finally, having merged our Ingenta.com and Ingenta Select mailing databases, we are now sending this newsletter to all registered library administrators. If you would like to unsubscribe, or change your mailing options (e.g. nominate a different or additional email address to receive the newsletter), please email feedback@ingenta.com with "Library EyetoEye" in the subject line. We would welcome any feedback you may have about the newsletter, via the same email address – do let us know if there are topics you would like us to cover, or areas of Ingenta about which we could usefully tell you more.

On behalf of all of us in the library services team at Ingenta,

Doug Wright
Vice President, Ingenta Library Division
