Get MORE with Connect Collections: coming soon!

We're pleased to announce a new development designed to support non-subscription-based licensing models for electronic content. Connect Collections are subsets of IngentaConnect's full journal list, usually themed by subject, and offered either by a single publisher or by a group of cooperating publishers. Each group of journals can be licensed as a collection, allowing specialist libraries to expand their holdings in specific subject areas at consortial prices.

We have been working closely with Maney Publishing to develop the Connect Collections architecture, and the following initial MORE (Maney Online Research E-journals) Collections will launch the service: Materials Science and Engineering, History/Humanities, and Healthcare. Each Connect Collection will have its own homepage on IngentaConnect; additional features include free trials for institutions wishing to assess the value of a collection before licensing, RSS feeds, and one-time activation for institutional licensees, thus reducing administrative burden.

IngentaConnect Vice President Douglas Wright says: “Big deals are losing popularity as libraries recognise they don’t need all the journals they’re getting. Connect Collections allow libraries to maximise the value they get for their time and money, by cutting out the content they don’t need, and only licensing and administrating the material which is really appropriate to their institution."

Look out for Connect Collections, coming soon on IngentaConnect!
