Wolper joins IngentaConnect's subscription agent initiative

We welcome Wolper Subscription Services on board our pioneering agent activation program, now in its sixth year. Wolper is the tenth agent to begin supplying us with files to enable automated activation, whereby participating libraries' IngentaConnect subscriptions are switched on with no administrator action required. 90% of our 250 IngentaConnect publishers now allow subscriptions to be activated on their behalf by agents.

The program depends on use of Ingenta's institutional customer identifiers (CIDs) which are currently in use by over 20,000 libraries and which enable centralized online access management across the full range of IngentaConnect publishers. Library customers can contact their agent to request that their data is included in files supplied to Ingenta, or upgrade to IngentaConnect Premium to take advantage of automatic set up for participation in the program. (Don't forget that we are currently offering a free 30-day trial of IngentaConnect Premium for library administrators -- click here for more information or to sign up.)

Amel Abourachid, Library and End User Services Manager for IngentaConnect, notes: "We are really pleased with the continued enthusiasm for our subscription activation program, since it's one of those things which makes life discernibly easier for our library customers. Setting up online access is a complex and frustrating area of e-journal administration, and we will continue in our efforts to make it more effective for all our users – I'm already in discussion with more agents to get them involved in our program."

The companies currently participating in Ingenta’s subscription agent program are: Brockhaus/German Books, Celdes, EBSCO Information Services, Globe Publication Pvt. Ltd, Licosa SpA, Maruzen, Otto Harrassowitz, Swets Information Services and USACO Corporation.
