Welcome

to this latest edition of Ingenta's eyetoeye newsletter for libraries. We've been busy since our last full edition of the newsletter - here we report on the inaugural meeting of our North American Library Advisory Board, which took place during the Charleston Conference in November. In fact, 2006 was our busiest year yet in terms of new support for libraries, so we also provide an overview of all the library-focussed activities we undertook.

We remind you that our extended gracing period for 2007 subscription renewals will end on 13th April, and update you on the progress of this year's renewals program. Elsewhere, we welcome Karger Libri as the latest subscription agent to join our agent activation program, and provide a service announcement regarding new RSS feed collections available via IngentaConnect. There's also a new poster available to download from IngentaConnect's Resource Zone, to help you publicise your e-journals to your users. And of course, we fill you in all the latest publishers to sign up for hosting via IngentaConnect, and the special offers available to you from Ingenta and our publishers this quarter.

It's a pretty bumper issue this time; we also have an InSight think piece for you which evaluates the increasing number of institutional registries being made available. And there's an excellent InFocus case study from Rosie Jones at the UK's Manchester Metropolitan University, describing the planning and implementation of her library's Welcome campaign which won them a gold award from professional association CILIP.

Finally, I hope you all received the news that Ingenta has merged with VISTA International to form a new business, Publishing Technology plc. Whilst the merger will not affect IngentaConnect directly, we are already benefitting from the strengthened organisation and we look forward to continuing to provide you with excellent service as part of our wider parent company. We will all be at the UKSG Annual Conference in Warwick next week so do drop by stand 42 - we look forward to catching up with you there!

On behalf of all of us at Ingenta,

Douglas Wright
Vice President, IngentaConnect
