London's Online Information is just around the corner and the world's leading event for online content and information management solutions is set to be another big one. The 2006 conference attracted over 800 delegates from over 45 countries, across all continents and is still one of the largest gatherings for the information industry.

News from the Frankfurt Book Fair and the latest library gatherings
We’ve had a busy time of it since the last eyetoeye. Having barely had chance to catch our breath after Frankfurt Book Fair, the North Atlantic Health Sciences Libraries meeting and the Charleston Conference were upon us.
The annual Frankfurt Book Fair took place in Germany last month and, as always, Ingenta was among the 300,000 visitors and over 700 exhibitors to attend.
Frankfurt is one of the key events on the publishing industry calendar - the largest book fair in the world, and an event to which publishers, librarians, suppliers and experts from the information community, from Europe, Asia, and the Americas flock. The week-long event offers librarians the opportunity to catch up with publishers, distributors and service providers alike, as well as delve into the latest developments in the book industry to ensure they keep ahead of the game. This year saw strong attendance despite strikes which crippled the city's public transport system and left many of us very footsore!
Woodstock, in Vermont, hosted this year’s North Atlantic Health Sciences Libraries conference - an event attended by universities and librarians from around North America. Primarily a medical conference specifically for the health librarian, a range of university and medical school instructors and speakers supported its agenda, focussed on the theme of ‘Continuing Education’. Sessions discussed current access to online information sources for evidence-based health statistics and data as well as addressing some of the issues librarians face today in providing this information to their users.
The annual Charleston Conference, in South Carolina, boasted the usual packed programme and compelling line-up of speakers, who addressed a wide-range of topics of discussion. The issues of finding authoritative content, the perils of Open Access and what the future holds for libraries and librarians around the globe were just a few of the many subjects covered over the three day meeting. Our own Leigh Dodds reported on some of the sessions on our All My Eye blog, and he also presented a well-received session on the concept of authoritative content on the age of Web 2.0. Leigh's co-presenter for the session, librarian Laura Cohen, is no doubt known to many of you as the author of the Library 2.0 blog. Look out for a report of their session on All My Eye in the near future. We also hope to feature reports from other Ingenta speakers' sessions (including Library Services Director Claire Ginn Winthrop on library administrator interfaces) either on the blog or in a future issue of this newsletter.
