Ringgold and Ingenta combine to create first centralized source of institutional authentication data
Ringgold's Identify database, containing metadata about more than 100,000 institutions across the world, will be enhanced with IP data licensed from IngentaConnect's access control system. This creates the potential for updates made in the IngentaConnect system to be syndicated, via Ringgold, to other publishers' and providers' systems - long term, this will reduce the burden on librarians to update their institution's authentication credentials on multiple systems. Connect Compilations: new content packages to meet users’ demands
These new "virtual" publications, which publishers have created by collating content that has previously been published in other formats elsewhere on IngentaConnect, will be launched next month. They draw together scholarly material from diverse sources to address a particular theme or to present an overview of research within a particular period. [More...]

New article recommendations feature on IngentaConnect
The low-down on a recently-introduced feature that recommends articles of interest to readers. The "recommendation engine" analyzes user behavior patterns on the site and makes recommendations based on anonymized user profiles, to help users discover additional material that could be relevant to their research.
