New article recommendations feature on IngentaConnect

In issue 23, we announced the beta release of new article recommendations within IngentaConnect. These are powered by our partner, Californian company Baynote, which analyzes user behaviour patterns on the site to create anonymous user profiles. These are then mined to produce "People who read this article also read..." recommendations, which we display on article abstract pages. We thereby provide users with links to three other articles that have been "recommended" by other users' reading habits.

The new feature has been gathering data for some months and is increasingly visible across the site. We believe it is a good way for technology to add something of value to the scholarly research process, and we look forward to hearing any feedback (help@ingenta.com) that you or your patrons have, as you make use of the article recommendations when browsing the site.
