Connect Compilations: new content packages to meet users' demands

We are pleased to announce the forthcoming launch of a new IngentaConnect service: Connect Compilations. A concept that a number of our publisher partners have been exploring, Compilations allow for the creation of new "virtual" publications by collating content that has previously been published elsewhere on IngentaConnect - in books, journals, reports or other formats.  Typical examples might be a themed collection of papers on a specific subject, or an annual "best of" compiling the most accessed or cited papers of a particular journal.

Key points

  • Compilations appear to the user as regular books and journals, with tables of contents and the other attributes a user would expect (such as RSS feeds to notify users of new content).
  • Content comes from a range of other publications on IngentaConnect, including books, journals, reports, and other publication types.
  • Subscription and pay-per-view access is managed in the same way as your other publications.
  • The identifiers (ISSN/ISBN, DOI etc.) applied to the content in its original published form are retained for each item in a Compilation.

Connect Compilations will be launched on the IngentaConnect service at the end of next month. If you would like any additional information about them at this point, please contact us.
