Welcome

to the summer edition of Ingenta's eye/to/eye newsletter, for librarians across the globe. This latest issue brings you news of IngentaConnect's forthcoming content packages, Connect Compilations. These new "virtual" publications, which publishers have created by collating content that has previously been published in other formats elsewhere on IngentaConnect, will be launched next month.

A new design of IngentaConnect is also about to go live – next week – and we offer you a sneak peek here. We recap two recent announcements about agreements that will further enhance the IngentaConnect service; hear more about our latest collaboration with Ringgold, in which we are pioneering the centralization of institutional authentication data, and how our new colleagues at Baynote are helping us to offer your users new and exciting ways to locate content specific to their field of study.

In our InSight features, we explore ways in which you can connect with information community colleagues via discussion lists and online resources, and explain how the semantic web can help to open up new research paths and add value to the scholarly communication process.

Even with such a jam-packed edition for you, we've still got room to update you on our latest new publishers to join IngentaConnect, as well as a number of special offers for you, including free trials to provide your users with temporary access to selected IngentaConnect journals.

Finally, we offer you a preview of next week’s Special Libraries Association annual meeting. Ingenta’s library services team will be there and we hope that many of you will find time to drop by our booth (706) to learn more about the new interface and services we refer to above.

I look forward to seeing you in Seattle!
On behalf of all of us in the library services team at Ingenta,

Jeff Downing
Library Relations Manager
