Welcome

As Summer winds down and the academic year fast approaches, will your patrons be feeling the effects of library budget cuts and unavoidable journal subscription cancellations? You can minimize the pain and still give your patrons access to the research they need without breaking the library bank.  How? By buying articles based on patron demand.

Ingenta Pay-Per-View
In addition to subscription-based access, Ingenta offers access to more than 5,400, electronic, full-text academic and professional journals via pay-per-view. This means that you only pay for the exact research your patrons need, on an individual, one-time basis.  And Ingenta’s electronic journal database is accessible from the Web, so users can search and access the articles they desire, from any computer, at any time.  Upon payment, online articles are delivered directly to the user’s desktop in PDF and/or HTML formats.

Library Payment Accounts
Ingenta offers many different solutions for paying for online articles.  Library-funded payment accounts are a great way to cap, track and control patron spending.   We invite you to check out the feature article in this issue on our new advanced functionality deposit accounts to learn more.

Also in this issue:

  • Free article access offers for the end of summer from one of our leading publishers
  • Our regular feature of new titles and new publishers now available on Ingenta
  • A schedule of upcoming online training sessions for Ingenta.com administrators and users
  • Helpful list of global library events
  • And more...

On behalf of the library services team at Ingenta, best wishes for the close of Summer and for the start of the new academic year.
