Who is ... Guy Plowman?

Guy Plowman joined Ingenta in June 2004 as Business Development Manager, a role dedicated to helping Ingenta clients realise the full potential of their online content through web services and information commerce. Guy comes to us with 8 years' experience in the publishing industry and has specialized in innovative business models.

Guy is based in Ingenta's head office in Oxford, from where he works closely with the Client Management team to identify areas of opportunity for Ingenta's publisher partners. Speaking of his role, Guy says: "Ingenta has a prestigious client list, and I have already been able to work with a number of our customers in reviewing their online service offering. As the business of online publishing evolves, end users are becoming more sophisticated and demanding more from content providers. My task is to assist publishers in recognizing how they could expand their online business, to address new markets and to better meet the needs of their existing user base."

Prior to joining Ingenta, Guy spent 4 years in business development and sales management at Elsevier, where his focus was primarily on the online services within the Engineering & Chemistry and Advanced Technology divisions. In 2003, he won the Elsevier Values Award for Innovation.
