Welcome
to our final 2005 edition of eyetoeye. As ever, it's packed full of Ingenta news and information about the industry in general. We're very pleased to announce the recent launch of our new product for publishers, IngentabyDesign, which provides you with a fully-branded view onto your IngentaConnect content in order that you can incorporate our sophisticated web content features within your own site. We also give you a sneak preview of our forthcoming publisher admininistration homepage, which will give access to all our publisher tools and resources from one simple interface. At this time of year, renewals are not far from any of our minds – so we have two features on the subject in this issue. On a practical level, we remind you of our seven step plan for ensuring that your customers' online access is smoothly renewed. But we also syndicate Joshua Clarke's feature from a recent PCG Vantage which analyses trends in journal subscription renewal and cancellations over the last year. Don't miss it.
Elsewhere, we invite you to talk to us about making your backfiles available electronically; online archives are a hot topic with librarians and are increasingly becoming a differentiator when it comes to cancellations. And we bring you news of Ingenta's latest library developments, including the results of our recent library customer survey – take a look to see what your customers think of our platform. We also include a case study of Oxford Scholarship Online, powered and built by Ingenta's websites and ICS division. As usual, we present the latest publishers to join Ingenta.
Finally, we review Ingenta's UK publisher forum held in London just a couple of weeks ago. It was great to see so many of you there, and we look forward to a similarly successful US forum next year.
With best wishes to you all for the coming holiday season,
Simon Dessain
