New feature: offer free trials of your content to institutional users

A newly-developed feature of IngentaConnect means publishers can now offer free trials to institutional as well as personal users. This means you can offer free journal- or issue-level access to any number of your publications, for a time period defined by you. The service could help you maximise the impact of a newly-launched journal, or form part of a marketing drive to increase usage of your electronic content and drive up subscriptions. Offering time-limited free access via our trial functionality enables you to capitalise on IngentaConnect's global audience of researchers, and capture an increased share of our 30 million monthly user sessions.

Benefits
Since the trial is entirely online, you do not need to support the printing and distribution costs often with providing sample copies. As part of the service, you will receive electronic reports containing the contact details of the institutional administrators who have signed up for your trial - these can be readily manipulated or imported into your targets database. And as the free trial sign up clearly states that trial access is offered in exchange for information, you can act upon the information contained in these reports whilst remaining within the bounds of data protection legislation.

Once the trial is set up, we will publicise it in our library newsletter, and provide you with all the necessary details to carry out your own promotions.

Protecting your content
Users are required to enter their email address as part of the set-up process, and can only use their email address once per trial. Your weekly trial reports will provide comprehensive information about trial users, and we will immediately terminate any trial user's access that gives you cause for concern.

How to get started
For additional information, download our PDF information sheet or contact your client manager. You simply need to tell us which content you would like to offer for trial, and under what model (for example, all content for 30 days, a particular issue for 3 months, a themed set of publications for 60 days).
