Welcome

to the summer issue of Ingenta's publisher newsletter. Celebrate with us as IngentaConnect loads its 10,000th e-publication, and wins a technology award from no less than Hewlett Packard! We're also pleased to announce that the first release of our Information Commerce software has been accepted by launch partner Institute of Physics Publishing. And we unveil institutional free trials on IngentaConnect, enabling you to capitalise on our global audience by offering time-limited free access to your content.

Elsewhere, we review a number of recent events: our own US publisher forum which addressed a forward-looking range of subjects including Web 2.0 and "what libraries really want from publishers", our inaugural Open Forum which provided an opportunity for frank discussion of hot topics amongst a smaller group of publishers, and the recent ALA and SLA Annual Meetings, attended by our library services team. There's an overview of our pioneering work with subscription agents and an in-depth look at the subject of scholarly archiving initiatives in our InSight piece, "Preservation, Preservation, Preservation".

Finally, there's news of IngentaConnect's new Library Advisory Group, and the latest publishers to bring their content on board.

On behalf of us all at Ingenta,

Simon Dessain
CEO
