Technical Update - performance improvements and streamlined purchasing

We've recently completed a large-scale transfer of data onto a brand new server infrastructure, designed to show significant performance improvements on our IngentaConnect website. This long awaited hardware upgrade should ensure smoother and faster delivery of content to end-users and increased reliability across the site.

While these ugrades have been in motion, we've also been adding some much requested funtionality to the site itself in the form of e-commerce streamlining.  We've introduced a "Buy it now" option to article purchasing so that users don't have to negotiate the shopping cart to buy a single item. If the user is signed in and has a payment method stored they can purchase an article in one click. This ease-of-purchase addition should offer end users a much quicker route to accessing content, which can only benefit our clients who offer Pay-Per-View sales.
