Welcome
to the latest issue of Ingenta's eye/to/eye newsletter for publishers. We're reporting on some exciting IngentaConnect developments in this issue, including a new design and a new service, Connect Compilations, which allows you to target new audiences with "virtual" publications compiled from articles and chapters drawn from across your catalogue. There's also our latest collaboration with Ringgold, in which we are pioneering the centralisation of institutional authentication data.
I'm pleased to be able to introduce some more new faces within our publisher services team: Anna Drage, Nick Weir-Williams and Patrick Foss will all be with us at our forthcoming Rising to the digital challenge event in Boston this week, which I hope many of you will be attending (a few spaces left for those of you who haven't registered yet!). Our most popular speaker, Leigh Dodds, will be explaining how the semantic web can help you to develop a truly 21st century publishing business - you can whet your appetite today with a report on Leigh's most recent paper, Identifiers ... not only, but also, which explores how identifiers can increase the visibility of valuable materials on the web and introduce efficiencies into inter-community integration.
Finally, we welcome a number of new publishers who have selected IngentaConnect for online hosting, and review some recent activities from our siblings in the Publishing Technology group.
With best wishes from all of us,
Douglas Wright
