CatchWord Has Been Renamed "Ingenta Select"
Catchword.com is now ingentaselect.com. Why the name change?You may know that when Ingenta acquired CatchWord in February 2001, we inherited a new website and a new content collection of online scholarly journals — catchword.com. Since then, our technical teams have been working behind the scenes to integrate CatchWord and Ingenta and eventually offer all of our publishers’ content through one integrated Web service.
In renaming “CatchWord” to “Ingenta Select,” we've taken the next step towards this integration. Besides a different name, logo and URL, Ingenta Select will offer researchers the same convenient features as the CatchWord service. For instance, researchers are able to browse our entire online collection of 5,500+ journals, access articles if they are a subscriber, or download articles via pay-per-view. The same content and services are also available for users of ingenta.com, with the addition of a fax/Ariel delivery service for the print content.
We’re also taking this opportunity to launch several new features for our library customers. For instance, libraries with deposit accounts on ingenta.com can purchase pay-per-view articles from Ingenta Select against that account. In addition, Ingenta Select is now a source of OpenURLs and is SFX compliant.
The service is located at www.ingentaselect.com but you’ll still be automatically redirected to the new home page if you happen to type “catchword.com” into your browser. And if you or your users have been using ingenta.com all along, you can continue to do just that.
