The Ingenta Library Outlook

A new, regularly featured column in EyetoEye, The Ingenta Library Outlook will help keep you informed of all of the current product promotions, customer communications, library event preparation and customer service initiatives we're undertaking to reach librarians. Learn how we're reaching out to new customers and the larger library community each day.

Each of these library marketing initiatives help us to continually promote the availability of your content, and reinforce the value your publications bring to the Ingenta aggregation.

Current Product and Service Promotions
Throughout the month of March, we're running a 50% discount off the annual maintenance fee for all new deposit accounts opened at Ingenta. We've already had great global response to this special offer.

What is an Ingenta deposit account? Available in both standard and advanced levels of service, Ingenta deposit accounts allow institutions to sponsor funds, which authenticated patrons may draw upon for individual article purchases.

What does this mean for you, the publishers? The more institution-sponsored deposit accounts opened at Ingenta, the greater the possibility of patrons purchasing the online article they need from your publication(s) via pay-per-view. Where subscriptions don't exist, this is an opportunity for greater accessibility and increased article sales amidst growing, library subscription budget cuts.

Customer Communications and Relationship Management
As many of you may already know, each quarter, we publish a library edition of EyetoEye. Our newsletter currently reaches out to more than 1300 libraries around the world, informing them of new content available at Ingenta, new publisher signings and special access offers from our publishers, among other news and helpful articles about using our products to their fullest. The next edition of Library EyetoEye will be distributed later this month. Each of our publisher clients are invited to speak with their respective account managers to ensure that special subscription offers and/or access promotions are included in EyetoEye.

Our customer service team will also be conducting a library customer survey later this month, seeking input on the subscription activation process at Ingenta. We will use this data to help make important changes to our current process and best work with our network of subscription agents.

Global Library Events
ALA Midwinter was barely over before we began preparing for the next wave of library events this Spring. Ingenta will be exhibiting and speaking at UKSG in Edinburgh, 7-9 April, 2003, as well as exhibiting at the SLA and ALA Annual events this June in New York and Toronto. Our international library sales manager also recently attended Bibliostar in Milan, 13-14 March. Targeted event mailings, including special product and content promotion and show giveaways are always part of each event's planning and preparation.
