Available for Purchase: The Ingenta Institute 2002 Report

The Consortium Site License: Is it a Sustainable Model?
"The Ingenta Institute presents an opportunity to learn the conclusions from unique and independent research studies. The results offer us the evidence to effectively develop site licensing in concept and practice."
-David Warlock, Electronic Publishing Services

Printed copies of the 2002 Ingenta Institute Proceedings are now available for purchase. The Proceedings include detailed results and copies of the papers delivered at the Ingenta Institute meetings held in London and at the Charleston Conference last Fall.

As a comprehensive package, the Proceedings highlight and attempt to answer a range of significant and controversial issues from a topical and sometimes contentious area of discussion.

The Proceedings include:

• An overview of the trends in the journal system over the past 25 years, including the introduction of consortia, and implications for libraries from industry expert Professor Donald King, University of Pittsburgh.

• Groundbreaking and fascinating data from the early stages of a pilot analysis of Web log data, which looked at the patterns that emerge when analyzing different types of online "users," conducted by CIBER, City University.

• Varied and sometimes controversial views on the implications of the research, including problems to be addressed as expressed by key industry figures including Professor Carol Tenopir, University of Tennessee, David Pullinger, UK Office for National Statistics and Peter Bolman, Elsevier Science.
