Industry Newsletter Launch: The PCG Vantage
Publishers Communication Group, an Ingenta company, has recently published its inaugural, online issue of the The PCG Vantage. The PCG Vantage is a free, quarterly HTML newsletter dedicated to examining the most current trends and issues affecting scholarly communication today, sharing direct expertise and opinions from members of the publishing and library communities.Each issue focuses on an engaging central topic and offer a regular format of articles, including an interview with an industry leader or visionary, a case study or review of an innovative program, and an article or editorial from a guest contributor.

The inaugural issue is dedicated to reporting on scholarly communication initiatives related to developing countries, and features:
• An interview with Dr. Margarida Vieira, the new Program Director for Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES) at the Ministry of Education in Brazil. Dr. Vieira offers her insight into the development of the Brazilian Portal of Scientific Information and its future goals.
• An informative overview of the major agencies worldwide that provide assistance to libraries in developing countries for access to scholarly materials.
• A feature article from guest contributor Susan Veldsman of the South African Site License Initiative (SASLI). Susan shares her perspective on South African libraries’ challenges and future opportunities.
